02.14.09 - The Foresters competed at the DePauw University Indoor Track Invitational and three runners qualified to compete in the NAIA National Championships in March.

Nick Johnson broke the 15-minute mark in the 5000 meter with a time of 14:59.58 to win the event and automatically qualify for Nationals.  Dan Lindbloom and Joseph Herber both met provisional standards to compete at Nationals in the 3000 meter with second and third place finishes in 8:45.33 and 8:49.00 respectively.

Other highlights in men's action included two first place finishes by Matthias Haller (1000m, 2:34.99) and Lucas Beach (shot put, 50-02.75) and a personal best for Aaron Mills in the pole vault with a mark of 14-01.25 to finish third in the event.

Bethel took the men's team title with a score of 100 in a field of 19 teams that included several NCAA Division I and II teams.  Alabama-Huntsville was second with 94 and HU was third with 74 points.

On the women's side, Jill Roughia turned in the Foresters' top performance of the day placing third in the 1000 meter with a time of 3:10.11. Bethany McGraw finished fifth in the long jump with her leap of 17-05.25 and was sixth in the 200 meter in 26.51.  Cassie Lehman was the other top eight finisher as she placed sixth in the 55 meter hurdles in 9.00.

Murray State won the women's event with a score of 123.  HU came in 12th in the field of 19 teams with 13 points.
