02.21.09 - The Foresters competed at the Grand Valley State University Indoor Track Invitational and Matthias Haller and Joseph Njeri both met qualification standards to compete in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Johnson City, Tennessee on March 5-7.  They join five other Foresters who had previously qualified to compete in the national event.

Haller automatically qualified in the 800 meter by winning the event in 1:54.94 and Njeri finished third in the 5000 meter with a time of 15:21.78 to meet provisional standards. Nick Johnson, who had already qualified for Nationals in the 5000 meter, met provisional standards in the one mile run with his fifth place finish in 4:19.86. Lucas Beach recorded his top mark of the season with a toss of 54-09.50 in the shot put to finish second and Kameron Bailey took third in the 200 meter with a time of 22.67.

On the women's side, Jill Roughia was HU's lone winner on the day.  She crossed the line first in the 1000 meter with a time of 3:07.12. Bethany McGraw posted three top five finishes with a third in the triple jump (33-02.00), a fourth in the 200 meter (27.01) and a fifth in the long jump (16-08.50).  Josann Schoeff placed third in the 200 meter in 26.75 and fourth in the 60 meter dash in 8.20 and Cassie Lehman took fifth in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.69.
