03.21.09 - A partial men's and women's track squad competed at the Wabash College J. Owen Huntsman Relays to open their outdoor season.  The women finished third of four teams and the men were fourth in a field of five.

In women's action, Cassie Lehman and Kelsey Green were both winners on the day.  Lehman finished first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.69 and Green won the discus with a toss of 126-02.  Green also was second in the shot with a mark of 34-04.25, fourth in the javelin at 87-04 and fifth in the hammer with a 96-11 throw.  The Foresters also competed in four relays and won three of them. They won the 4x400 in 4:09.77, the 4x800 in 10:53.52 and the 1600 sprint medley in 4:16.30.

Other competitors included Jill Roughia in the 3000 meter steeplechase (2nd, 12:53.00), Josann Schoeff in the 100 meter dash (2nd, 13.11), Kayley Cervenka in the javelin (3rd, 87-11) and Bradie Vance in the 5000 meter (5th, 21:45.40).

On the men's side, Dan Lindbloom met NAIA qualifications to compete in the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in May with his winning time of 9:37.80 in the 3000 meter steeplechase.  Lindbloom also led off HU's distance medley that smashed the school record by nine seconds with their time of 10:31.28. Kameron Bailey ran the second leg, Matthias Haller ran the third and Nick Johnson anchored the team.  Aaron Mills grabbed HU's other win by clearing 13-00 in the pole vault.

Other top three finishers included Sean LaFontaine in the 400 meter hurdles (2nd, 56.32), HU's 4x400 relay (2nd, 3:28.23) and Joseph Herber in the 5000 meter (3rd, 15:27.82).
