HUNTINGTON COLLEGE Mid Central Conference April 27, 2001
The Mid Central Conference was held at Taylor University last weekend. The women were fourth overall and the men came in fifth. There were some great individual performances for both men and women. Danielle Vohs competed very well in the 800 meters coming in first with a time of 2:19 and second in the 1500 meters with a 4:50. Jennie Mach did well in both of these events as well, coming in third for both races with a 2:22 in the 800 meters and a 4:51 in the 1500 meters. Julie Lowe ran her personal best in the 5,000 meters also winning the event in 18:34. Julie came in second in the 3,000 meters as well, with a time of 10:40. Natalie Guenin ran her personal best as well in the 5, 000 meters coming in second for the Foresters with a time of 18:48. Natalie followed up with a third place in the 3,000 meters and a time of 10:52. Rachelle Smith was third in the pole vault with a mark of 8'00". The women's 4X800 relay team of Jenny Cook, Aimee Sullivan, Jennie Mach and Danielle Vohs was first with a time of 9:30. Great individual performances on the men's side included Pat Pettyjohn with a first place in the 200 meters in 22.78 and a second place in the 100 meter dash with an 11.17. John Ngure was first in the 10,000 meters with a time of 31.23. Jonathon Doyle was third in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.29. Gary Skeel came in third in the high jump with a mark of 6'00". The men's 4X100 relay team of Bruce Bergdall, Jonathon Doyle, Rusty Gardner and Pat Pettyjohn came in third with a time of 43.29.
