Foresters successful at
NAIA Indoor National Championships
3/5 - Five members of the Forester track team
competed at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in
Johnson City, Tenn., over the weekend. Senior Jonathan Doyle provided
HC's highlight for the weekend with his 11th-place finish in the 55-meter
high hurdles with a time of 7.90. Doyle entered the national competition seeded
25th in his event, yet posted the 10th-best time in the prelims with his
personal best time of 7.85. His time moved him on to the 12-member
semi-final. Freshman Cody Hannie finished 15th in the 1000
meter run with his 2:34.71 time he posted in the prelims, and Joseph Waithira was 23rd overall in the 3000 meter run with a 9:11.30 in his
preliminary heat. Nicole Jacob and Jenny Grill both missed making the
finals of the 1000 meter run, but finished 15th (3:11.32) and 18th
(3:15.70) overall in the event.
