Foresters open outdoor season at Wheaton

3/28 - The men and women's track teams opened the outdoor seasons at the Wheaton Invitational and came away with ninth (35 points) and eleventh (20.5) points) place finishes, respectively. David St. Louis posted the best finish for the Forester men with his third place in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:59.29. Ross Luckett finished fourth in the same race with a time of 10:22.33. St. Louis also placed fifth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:56.5. Other scorers for HC included Jon Pelz (400, 5th, 51.12), Joseph Waithira (10,000, 5th, 33:19.0), Chris Buehrer (10,000, 6th, 33:20.2), Cody Hannie (800, 6th, 1:59.91), Cory Thompson (Triple Jump, 8th, 10.96m), and HC's 4x400 relay, which placed fourth with a time of 3:28.9. The men's event, which included 18 teams, was won by Wheaton College with 144.50 points.

On the women's side, Molly Andrews was the highlight for HC with her first place in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 41:21.6. Brittany Fillman and Kara Fultz finished back to back in fifth and sixth place in the 400 meter dash with times of 62.38 and 62.66, and HC's 4x100 relay team placed fourth with a time of 52.86. Marquette University won the 20-team event with 165 points.
