Huntington College Track & Field National meet closes 2004 season 6/1 - The six athletes that traveled to Louisville, Kentucky for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships all had their seasons end in the preliminary round of their respective events, but for a variety of reasons. In the 110 meter high hurdle prelims, senior Jonathan Doyle was on course to run the fastest time of his career when he pulled his hamstring crossing the next to last hurdle. He limped across the finish line in fourth place with a time of 15.23, still good enough to qualify for the semis, but was not able to continue the next day. The injury also forced him to withdraw from his other event, the 400 meter hurdles. Sophomore David St. Louis was injured during his race, the 3000 meter steeplechase, and did not finish. The women's 3200 relay team of seniors Nicole Jacob and Brooke Welch, sophomore Courtney Gullickson, and freshman Brittany Fillman finished with a time of 9:49.63 in the prelims, which was nine seconds off the pace to qualify them for the next round.
