- The size of the frontline of top-seeded Taylor University proved too
much for the #8-seeded Foresters to handle in MCC Tournament action.
The Trojans ended HC's season knocking off the Foresters in four 30-17,
30-20, 24-30, 30-20. The Foresters got off to a slow start and were
down two games, before they were able to swing the momentum in their favor.
In game three, HC jumped out to an early lead and staved off each of the
Trojans' rally attempts to pick up a win. The momentum continued to
build early in game four as the Foresters took a 14-9 lead, but Taylor's size
took over the game. HC struggled to get a side out against the Trojans'
big block and gave up 11 of the next 12 points to fall behind 20-15.
The Foresters could never regain the momentum. Sophomore Renee
Biberstine, who was a key factor in HC's turn-around in game three, finished
the match with a team-leading 13 kills, two blocks, and 15 digs.
Jessica Kendall added 10 kills and three blocks. Jami Fusselman had 32
assists on the night, and Stephanie Stearns lead the team with 29 digs.
With the loss, the Foresters complete their season with a 16-19 record. |
