- The Foresters completed their regular season with a 30-27, 26-30,
30-25, 30-27 win over the University of Michigan-Dearborn. HC jumped
out to a 6-1 lead in game one and cruised to the win, but too many unforced
errors cost them game two. In games three and four, the Foresters
cleaned up their game and regained the momentum to secure the win.
Playing in the final home match of their careers, seniors Jessica Kendall and
Jami Fusselman both helped make sure they finished with a victory.
Kendall led the team with 23 kills, while Fusselman had a team-high 55
assists, four blocks, and two aces. Tiffany Malfait added 13 kills and
a team-high four blocks. Stephanie Stearns chipped in team-leading 29
digs. “We came out really fired up for our last home match,” said
Coach Schroeder. “In games three and four, we had some of the best
teamwork of the year. Just like our win over Bethel Tuesday, this was a
great team effort. We are peaking at the right time.” HC
finished the season with a 16-18 record and tied for sixth in the MCC
standings with their 3-5 record. They now head into the MCC post-season
tournament having received the #8 seed. They will travel to Upland on
Wednesday to take on top-seeded Taylor University at 7:30 p.m. |
