9.24-25.04 - The volleyball team went 1-3 at the University of Michigan Dearborn Tournament on the weekend.  On Friday, HC fell in three straight (30-22, 31-29, 30-27) to Houghton College and then lost to the host Wolves 30-18, 30-24, 30-22.  On Saturday, the Foresters got in the win column defeating Central State University 30-16, 30-16, 30-14 and then lost their final match 30-28, 30-17, 30-23 to Illinois Institute of Technology.  Jessica Kendall, an All-Tournament selection, led HC with 23 kills on the weekend.  Tiffany Malfait had a team-high 10 blocks in the four matches.  Jami Fusselman dished out 68 assists, and Stephanie Stearns had a team-leading 76 digs in the tournament.  "We were pretty inconsistent all weekend," said Coach Schroeder.  "Our defense was pretty good, but we just can't seem to put the ball down for kills.  We have to be a lot more aggressive on offense."  The Foresters are now 5-10 on the season.
