10.21.06 - After suffering through a two-week slump, the Foresters (22-11) finally broke out of it with three straight wins on the weekend.  On Friday at the Tri-State University Tri-match, HU beat Olivet College 30-18, 30-26, 30-28 and then came back from two games down to knock off the host Thunder 26-30, 29-31, 30-24, 30-15, 15-9.  On Saturday, the Foresters got by Indiana Tech with a 25-30, 30-26, 27-30, 33-31, 15-12 victory.

Against Olivet, Renee Biberstine and Tiffany Malfait each had 11 kills and two blocks to lead the Forester attack.  Amy Wilson added 10 kills and 13 digs. Kayley Cervenka had a team-high five blocks, Alyssa Schroeder had 35 assists while Kellie Hanson added 16 and Stephanie Stearns had 14 digs and two aces.

In the second match of the evening, Tri-State put HU in an early hole winning the first two games, but the Foresters regrouped in time to pull off the victory.  Wilson put down 20 kills and added four blocks and 30 digs.  Brittney Smelser and Biberstine added 15 and 11 kills respectively.  Cervenka stuffed the Thunder hitters five times, Schroeder dished out 54 assists and Stearns dug 35 balls.

On Saturday, the Foresters traveled to Indiana Tech and put together some of their best defense of the season to outlast the Warriors for the win.  Cervenka (12) and Malfait (7) kept Indiana Tech's hitters in check with 19 blocks between them while touching and altering several other attacks.  Biberstine came up with 20 kills and Smelser added 15.  Natasha Gayday had her best all-around performance of the year with 14 kills, five blocks and four aces.  Schroeder had 56 assists and Stearns again led the team with 35 digs.
