| 10.05.07 - After
dropping the
first two games, the Foresters
put together a dramatic comeback to earn the 28-30, 20-30, 30-28,
30-28, 15-11 victory over Goshen College. The win moves the Foresters
to 16-5 on the year and marked the 200th career victory for Coach Dave
Schroeder.
"Goshen came out and completely took us out of our game," said Coach
Schroeder. "We couldn't stop their outside hitter. That,
coupled with a lot of unforced errors on our part, kept the momentum
in Goshen's favor."
In the final three
games, the Maple Leafs built early leads by as many as six points, but
HU fought back late in each game to get the come-from-behind win.
"The positive we can take from this match is, one, we didn't give up,
and two, we played well at the right time," said Coach Schroeder.
Brittney Smelser
led the Foresters with 25 kills in the match. Kayley Cervenka
added eight kills and a team high 10 blocks. Alyssa Schroeder
had 44 assists, four aces and three blocks and Stephanie Stearns had
21 digs. |
