11.10.07 - Despite losing to Taylor in the semifinals of the MCC Tournament, the Foresters still had an opportunity to move on to the NAIA Region VIII tournament if they could knock off Bethel College in a consolation game.  HU took game two from the Pilots, but the other three games were not very close as Bethel brought the Foresters' season to a close with a 30-21, 17-30, 30-22, 30-15 loss.

Brittney Smelser led HU with 15 kills and three aces.  Heidi Christner added 12 kills and two blocks.  Alyssa Schroeder dished out 45 assists and Stephanie Stearns finished with 33 digs.

"We really struggled against Bethel's blockers," said Coach Schroeder.  "We had trouble with our quick-tempo offense because our passing was really up-and-down.

The Foresters concluded their season with a 24-9 record.  Stearns was named the MCC Libero of the Year for the third straight season and Schroeder joined her on the MCC All-Conference First Team.  Smelser and Kayley Cervenka were both Second Team selections.
