10.15.08 - The Foresters entered the match against Spring Arbor University looking for their first conference win, but came up short with a 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 14-25, 15-13 loss.

After losing game one, HU found themselves down 20-12 in the second game before rallying for the 25-22 win.  In game three, the Foresters were down five early and could never catch up.  Game four was all HU and they seemed to have their first victory in sight as they jumped out to an 8-4 lead in the final game. But after switching sides midway through the game, the wheels fell off and the Cougars capitalized to get the come-from-behind win.

Brittney Smelser led HU's attack with 22 kills.  She also added 13 digs and four aces. Alyssa Schroeder tallied 51 assists. Chelsey Melvin had a team-high 16 digs and Natalie Villwock chipped in 16 kills, two blocks and four aces.

The loss drops the Foresters to 12-11 on the season and 0-5 in the MCC.
