The Foresters
headed west for a tournament over Labor Day weekend and split four
games in the Las Vegas Blast.
HU opened
play on Friday with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-23 loss to Oregon Tech.
The Foresters then came back with a convincing 25-14, 25-21, 25-11
victory over Pacific Union. On Saturday evening, HU fell
25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 25-21 to Bemidji State, but then evened their
tourney record with another win (25-12, 25-14, 25-13) over Pacific
Union.
Brittney Smelser
led the Foresters with 37 kills, 36 digs and 14 aces throughout the
tournament. Alyssa Schroeder took team high honors
with 107 assists. |
