09.13.08 - The Foresters traveled to Ohio for the Defiance College Tournament and went 2-2 on the weekend.

HU opened play against Albion College on Friday night and fell in three straight 25-22, 25-19, 25-18.  Brittney Smelser and Natalie Villwock each had eight kills to lead the Foresters. Alyssa Schroeder had 24 assists and Krista Spearman had four blocks.

In the second match of the evening, HU downed the Indiana Tech junior varsity team 26-24, 25-13, 18-25, 25-19.  Villwock put down 12 kills, Schroeder tallied 36 assists. Laura Bowman led the team with eight digs and Amanda Meyers had four aces.

On Saturday, the Foresters defeated Bluffton University 25-22, 25-16, 25-20.  Kayley Cervenka led HU's attack with 17 kills.  Schroeder dished out 41 assists and Smelser added eight kills, eight digs and two blocks.

In their final match of the weekend, HU lost to Concordia University 25-20, 26-24, 25-16.  Smelser took team-high honors with 12 kills and seven digs.  Schroeder recorded 33 assists had two aces.

With the split, the Foresters move to 6-5 on the season.
