Melissa Bortner led the Foresters with 14 kills in the match, Tiffany Malfait added 4 blocks, and Renee Rupp had 29 assists. The loss drops the women to 6-13 on the year and 0-2 in the MCC. Foresters Get First Win Despite struggling to get their offense on track, the Foresters played the big points well and recorded their first win of the season, defeating Tri-State University in three straight (31-29, 30-22, 30-21). "Although we went 0-4 for the tourney, we played better that last week," said Coach Schroeder. "We had a lot of hard fought matches and just couldn't get over the edge to pull out a victory." With the weekend results, the Foresters fall to 0-8 on the year. Foresters Winless At Madonna The women's volleyball team opened their season at Madonna University, playing in a tournament against several of the top teams in the region. Poor passing and a sputtering offense led to an 0-4 weekend for the Foresters. On Friday, HC lost both matches in three straight, falling 13-30, 17-30, 25-30 to host Madonna University and 23-30, 20-30, 28-30 to Saginaw Valley State.
