- The Foresters picked up a coveted MCC road win with their 59-42
victory over Goshen College. HC got off to a quick start
scoring several baskets in transition to build an early lead over
the Maple Leafs and then backed it up with some sticky defense to
hold Goshen to just five field goals and 21% shooting in the first
half. In the second half, the Foresters cooled off from the
field, but continued to keep Goshen from establishing any offensive
rhythm with some of their best defense of the year. HC pushed
its 17-point halftime lead to as many as 26 midway through the
second half to dash any Maple Leaf hopes of a comeback. HC's
Betsey Bean was the top scorer in the game with 17 and added a
team-high seven rebounds. Jessica Ramey chipped in 14 points,
four steals and three assists, and Tiffany Malfait went 6-7 from the
field for 13 points off the bench. Erin McDugle had 14 points
to lead the Maple Leafs. With the win, the Foresters improve
to 7-10 on the season and 2-4 in the MCC.
