- Jamie Grogg hit a school-record nine 3-point field goals to help lead
the Foresters to a come-from-behind 72-61 win over Indiana Tech. With the
rest of the team struggling to knock down shots in the first half (5-20),
Grogg went 4-8 from behind the arc to keep HC within striking distance down
just six (33-27) at the break. In the second half, the rest of the
Foresters finally started to heat up. HC went on an 21-8 run over the
first seven minutes to take a 48-41 lead. During the stretch, Grogg hit
three more treys, while Amy Berry added seven points and Betsey Bean, who
finished the game two assists shy of a triple double, chipped in five.
The Warriors would not go away as they fought back to within two at 54-52
with 8 minutes to play, but two free throws by Katie Stiffler and two more
threes from Grogg put the game out of reach. Grogg finished the with a
game-high 27 points on 9-17 shooting and added 3 assists and a steal.
Bean's performance included 13 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists, while
Berry added 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. With the win
the Foresters improve to 2-1 on the season.
