01.18.06 - Huntington University senior, Betsey Bean, from Olivet, Michigan (Olivet High School), was named the Mid-Central Conference (MCC) Player of the Week for the week of January 9-15.  Bean helped lead Huntington to a 2-0 week by averaging 21.5 points on 63% shooting from the field and grabbing 8.5 boards in the Foresters’ two victories. 

In Wednesday’s 79-73 win over Spring Arbor, Bean recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  On Saturday, she went 9-13 from the field and 4-6 from the line for 23 points in Huntington’s 88-80 win at Bethel College.  She also added seven boards and three assists.  For the season, Bean is averaging 12.8 point and a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game.  The Foresters (10-8, 5-3) return to action on Thursday, January 19 when they travel to Urbana University to take on the Blue Knights at 7:00 p.m.
