Ladywood High School (Livonia, Mich.)
standout, Erica Yost, has signed a Letter of Intent to continue her
basketball career at Huntington University next fall. Yost, a 5’6
guard, capped off a stellar career by helping lead Ladywood to a
22-2 record and a Catholic League Championship with her 13 points
and 4.5 assists per game. She will graduate having scored 1300
career points.
Yost’s success on the court also garnered her
numerous individual honors. She was an All-Catholic League
selection as a junior and was the top vote-getter as a senior. The
Livonia Observer voted her First Team All-Area as a junior and
senior and she was a Detroit Free Press All-Metro pick as a senior.
Yost also was a Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM)
Third Team All-State selection as a senior and was chosen to play in
the BCAM All-Star game later this summer.
Huntington University basketball coach, Lori Culler,
is looking forward to Yost’s contributions to the team. “Erica
comes from a very successful program and knows not only how to win,
but what it takes to win consistently, said Coach Culler. “She has
a tremendous work ethic to go along with her basketball abilities.
She does a great job of getting teammates involved with her court
vision and awareness, but can also be a scoring threat as well.
Because of her driven, refuse to lose intensity, we expect Erica to
help us from the get-go.” |
