02.29.08 - The Foresters gave NAIA Division II 5th-ranked Bethel College all it could handle for 33 minutes, but the senior-laden team Pilot squad got the leadership it needed down the stretch to bring HU's season to a close with a 70-55 loss in the semifinals of the MCC Tournament.

Through six minutes of play, the Foresters battled for a 13-11 lead, but it would be the last time HU would be in front.  Nora Didrick knocked down a three to put the Pilots on top for good at 14-13.  The Foresters were still hanging around down 22-19 with 6:32 left in the half and they headed to the locker room at the break with just a five-point deficit.

Bethel returned to the floor and took it to HU increasing its advantage to as many as 12 just under five minutes into the half, but the Foresters didn't go away.  They continued to battle and clawed their way back within three just past the mid-point of the period, and with 7:27 to play they were still within five at 52-47.  Unfortunately, HU then went for three minutes without scoring and Bethel capitalized on the drought, taking a 60-47 lead with 4:39 on the clock.  The Foresters got within 11 a couple times down the stretch but could get no closer.

Lauren Davenport paced Huntington with her 15 points and Jenna Donaldson added 14.  The MCC Player of the Year, Natalie Young, took game-high honors with 28 points and 10 rebounds in the contest and Hannah Richards chipped in 12 points for the Pilots.
