Huntington University
women’s basketball coach, Lori Culler, announced the addition of two
more
recruits who will bolster an already strong incoming class this
fall. The Elmhurst High School duo of Teirenney Fincher and Ebony
Robinson has chosen to continue their careers in the Foresters’
program. As seniors, both played instrumental roles in helping lead
the Trojans to a 23-3 record and a Summit Athletic Conference
championship.
Fincher, a 5-2 shooting guard, averaged 12.6 points and 3.9 assists
as a junior and knocked down 55 3-point field goals. She also
earned First Team All-SAC honors. In her final campaign, Fincher
posted averages of 9 points and 2.8 assists per game as well as hit
42 treys. She was a Second Team All-Conference selection and was
selected to play in the Nancy Rehm All-Star game. For her career,
Fincher scored 781 points and finished with 285 assists and 118
3-point field goals.
"Teirenney has good
knowledge of the game, and coming from a winning program, she
understands what it takes to be successful,” said Coach Culler.
“She is a very hard worker and a great team player. Her ability to
shoot the three will help fill a void on our roster. Aside from her
basketball skills, Teirenney is a quality individual that every
coach would love to have.”
At 5-5,
Robinson played the point guard position for the Trojans. During
her junior season, she led the team with 6.8 assists per game and
chipped in 8.7 points as well. Her performance earned her Second
Team All-SAC honors. As a senior, Robinson averaged 8.7 points, 4.9
assists and 4 steals per game to earn First Team All-Conference
honors. She completed her Trojan career with 519 points, 306
assists and 256 steals.
"Having played
point, Ebony brings tremendous court awareness and vision with her
game,” said Culler. “She is adept at handling the ball and her
quickness and ability to apply full court pressure will be an asset
to the aggressive, up-tempo style of play we like to use. Ebony’s
character and work ethic would make her a valuable addition to any
program. We’re glad she chose HU.” |
