The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has
released its bracket for the 18th Annual NAIA Division II Women’s
Basketball National Championship. The 32 teams are seeded in four
brackets of eight teams and the Foresters were given one of the #4
seeds. Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena in Sioux City, Iowa will
host the event on March 11-17, 2009.
HU's opening round opponent will be Jamestown College (ND) and they
will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12. The
Jamestown Jimmies enter the tournament with a 20-9 record having
finished third in the Dakota Athletic Conference. They
qualified for the tournament by receiving the #8 at-large bid.
The winner will take on
the winner of the #1 Davenport (MI)/ #8 IU Southeast game on Friday,
March 13 at 3:30 p.m. CST.
