Oak Hill High School standout, Lauren Meese, has
signed a Letter of Intent to continue her basketball
career at Huntington University next fall. Meese, a 5’5 guard,
averaged 12.1 points, 4.5 assists and 3.9 steals per game as a
senior this season for the 27-2 State Runner-Up Golden Eagles. As a
four-year starter, Meese helped lead Oak Hill to a 91-12 record,
four conference championships, three Regional titles and
back-to-back State Tournament Runner-Up finishes. She finished her
career with 1031 points, 468 assists and 404 steals.
Having been a key player in a winning program, Meese
had a highly decorated career. She was an All-County selection all
four years and a three-time First Team All-Conference player. As a
senior, Meese was invited to participate in the Indiana Top 60
workout and at the conclusion of the State Tournament Championship
game, she received the prestigious Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude
award.
Huntington University basketball coach, Lori Culler,
is looking forward to Meese’s contributions to the team. “There are
two attributes of Lauren’s game that immediately catch your eye, her
ability to defend and her work ethic,” said Coach Culler. “You can
never have too many players on your roster with those qualities. As
a point guard, Lauren sees the floor well and has a great
understanding of the game. She also has good range which will help
fill a need this year’s team had. Aside from all that she can do on
the floor, Lauren is a quality individual that any coach would love
to have. I expect her to not only make an impact on our program,
but on our campus as well.” |
