College women’s basketball coach, Lori Culler, announced that four players
will be joining the Forester program next season as members of his 2003
recruiting class. The class
contains two freshmen and two sophomores. Amy
Berry, a 5’11 forward
from Oak Hill High School, finished her stellar career as the Golden
Eagles’ second all-time leading scorer with 1091 career points.
She was a Three Rivers Conference First Team all-conference player
three times in her career and was a 3-time First Team all-county player in
Grant County. “We are very
excited to have Amy join our program,” said Coach Culler.
“She is a versatile player that can play several different
positions which will give her an opportunity to help us immediately.” Tabitha
Pratt, a 5’10 forward
from Tippecanoe Valley High School, will join the Foresters as a sophomore
after sitting out last season to allow some injuries from her high school
career to heal. As a senior for the Vikings, Pratt averaged 11 points and 6
rebounds per game. She was
selected as a First Team All-Conference player in the Three Rivers
Conference and received Academic All-State honors as well.
“Tabitha looks to be healthy after taking a year off and has been
doing well in open gyms this summer,” said Coach Culler. “She has a great understanding of the game to go with her
talent and determination. We
expect Tabitha to make an immediate impact.”
Jessica
Ramey, a 5’6
transfer from IPFW, is a quality point guard that has the whole package.
She has the demeanor to run the show and can dish or score depending
on what is needed from her. As
a freshman for the Mastodons, Ramey played in 23 games and averaged 2.2
points and 1.3 assists per game. In
her senior season at West Noble High School, she led the Northeast Corner
Conference in scoring at just under 20 points per game and 7.3 assists per
game. “With Jessica’s court
vision, she will be an exciting player to watch.
She does an excellent job of getting her teammates involved and can
knock down shots as well. We’re
looking forward to her contributions for the next three years,” said Coach
Culler.
