About Head Coach Lori Culler

Head Coach Lori Culler heads into her 19th season at the Forester helm having guided the program to 316 wins against 211 losses.  Throughout her coaching career, Culler has been recognized as Mid-Central Conference Coach of the Year seven times and NCCAA National Coach of the Year twice.  Last season, she guided a very young Forester squad to a 16-13 record and a fifth place tie in the Mid-Central Conference.

During her eighteen-year tenure, Culler has coached 10 NAIA and/or NCCAA Scholar-Athletes, 10 NAIA and/or NCCAA All-Americans (First Team through Honorable Mention), and 21 Mid-Central College All-Conference players.  In addition, the Foresters have won two NCCAA national championships, finished in the Top 16 at the NAIA national tournament, and won seven Mid-Central Conference titles.

Because of Culler’s commitment to the concept of the student-athlete, it is not surprising that her teams not only have excelled on the court, but in the classroom as well.  Last season, her team earned a combined 3.207 grade point average for the year.  Her Foresters have been recognized nationally for their academic accomplishments with seven appearances in the WBCA Academic Top-25 Team Honor Roll in the past eight years.  Culler also boasts a 98% graduation rate for her scholarship athletes.

Culler also has given back to the sport with her involvement in various activities at the conference, regional, and national levels.  During her 18 years, Culler has served as chair of the MCC and NAIA Region VIII women’s basketball committees; she was the conference rater for 12 years and served terms on the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Tournament Committee and the Francis Naismith-Pomeroy Selection Committee.  Culler also is an active member of the WBCA.

During her playing career as a Forester, 1982-1985, Culler scored 1307 points and was the third women’s player to join Huntington’s 1000 Point Club.  She was a member of the 1984 NCCAA national championship basketball team and received NAIA Academic All-American and Honorable Mention All-American honors.  Culler is a 1986 graduate of Huntington College and earned her MS in Athletic Administration from Ball State University.  She currently serves as Sports Information Director and Coordinator of Athletic Eligibility.
