10.11.05 - In a key MCC Conference match-up, it was the Bethel College Pilots that finally got the upper hand and shut out the Foresters 2-0.  In the first half, both teams had scoring chances but neither could find the back of the net, ending the period in a scoreless tie.

The Pilots, who had begun to gain some momentum late in the first half, came out strong in the second half to take command of the game.  Their efforts were rewarded with a goal in the 55th minute. With Huntington unable to regain control of the game it was only a matter of time before Bethel put the game out of reach with a second goal in the 78th minute. The Foresters changed their lineup in a desperate attempt to get back into the game but the Pilots kept HU on its heals to preserve the shutout.

"We didn’t play as well today and Bethel’s strong play had a lot to do with that," said Coach Datema. "We were reacting to what they were doing and we need to learn to counter that by being more proactive ourselves. We have two more games to work on it before heading into the conference tournament."

The loss drops the Foresters to 5-7-1 on the year and 2-4-1 in the conference play.
