10.18.05 - A goal in the 29th minute from Mindy Perry was all the Foresters needed to take the 1-0 win over Goshen College in their final regular season game. Shannon Holly made a nice move down the left wing and beat a defender to the inside before slotting a pass to Perry for the score.

Huntington had several opportunities to increase its lead, out-shooting the Maple Leafs 24-6, but the Goshen defense played hard and the Goshen keeper, Amy Clem, had an outstanding game to keep the Maple Leafs within striking distance. In the second half Goshen came out strong in the first 20 minutes, but the Foresters began to assert control and cruised the rest of the way for the win.

“Goshen can lull you to sleep and make you pay with a quick strike, said Coach Datema.  "I was pleased with how we were able to stay focused and prevent that. Shannon Holly had a great game in midfield and Ashley Gonterman was strong from the stopper position.

The Foresters close out the regular season 6-8-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the MCC. They will need to await the results of other conference games to find out where they open the conference tournament on Saturday.
