10.08.05 - Huntington University's Sarah Kaufman added another hat trick to her career stats, helping lead the Foresters to the 3-1 win over Taylor University.  HU got on the board in the 5th minute when left back Ashley Gonterman sent a long ball into the offensive half connecting with Kaufman on a break. Kaufman then beat the Taylor keeper for the score.

The Trojans responded two minutes later when a couple of misplays by the Forester defense allowed Taylor a break of its own leading to the equalizer. Kaufman restored the one goal lead in the 11th minute off another assist from Gonterman.  In the second half Kaufman converted a penalty in the 62nd minute to complete the scoring.

We played a balanced game today," said Coach Datema. "Taylor plays a very strong offside trap and I was pleased with how we were able to break it and create chances. Ashley Gonterman did a good job of seeing the field and distributing out of the back for us."

With the win, HU improves to 5-6-1 on the year and 2-3-1 in the conference play.
