09.20.05 - The Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats buried the Foresters early with five goals in the first half handing HU its first conference loss by a score of 5-1.

The match started off with a bang with IWU scoring in the second minute and the Foresters answering back just a minute later.  HU’s goal was scored by Sarah Kaufman who latched on to a cross from Rachel Jones and shot it past the keeper. But after the initial fireworks, the Foresters played flat and IWU pounded the HU net with four more goals to take a 5-1 lead at halftime.

In the second half Huntington came out determined to make a better showing. They were unable to score but they were able to keep the Wildcats in check by playing with much more determination.

“ We need to gain an identity as a team," said Coach Datema.  "I think we learned in the second half that we can play if we put our minds to it.”

Huntington now stands at 2-4 on the year and 1-1 in the MCC conference.
