09.03.05 - Sarah Kaufman and Mindy Perry combined for four goals and five assists in the Foresters 6-0 rout over Franklin College.  Five minutes into the contest Kaufman picked up her first assist when she found Rachel Jones for the score.  Fifteen minutes later Mindy Perry netted HU's second goal with Kaufman again picking up the assist. Bethany Lewis then pushed a through ball down the right side to Kaufman who blasted in a goal of her own from 25 yards in the 25th minute. The Foresters completed the first half scoring with Kaufman once again feeding Perry for her second goal in the 29th minute.

The second half began with Perry returning the favor by assisting Kaufman in the 54th minute to make the score 5-0. Christi Shook completed the scoring on a play that began with Bethany Lewis passing to Perry who found Shook open in the middle for the score.

“Our goal today was to play our game and not allow our opponent to dictate the tempo," said Coach Datema.  "Our starters got us off to a great start, but our bench maintained the intensity throughout the game with a great effort. Christi Shook is from Franklin and playing in her home town really brings out the best in her as she had an outstanding game in midfield.”

With the win, Huntington evens its record at 1-1 on the season.
