Another great start
for the Foresters (2-12, 0-7) fell by the wayside as Taylor University
scored four unanswered goals in the second half to dismantle HU 7-2.
Bethany McGraw
opened the scoring to give the Foresters a 1-0 lead, but it was
short-lived as Taylor immediately came back down the field and tied it
up. Two minutes later, the Trojans scored again to take a 2-1 lead.
McGraw pulled HU back even with a second goal off a Jennie Stern
corner kick, but again Taylor picked up the intensity. They
reclaimed the lead a minute later and took the 3-2 advantage to the
half.
After changing ends
at the
break, Taylor now
had the wind at their backs and they used it to score four unanswered
goals to win going away.
"We have struggled with our
intensity after goals this year," said Coach Sharpe.
"It happened last game against Marian and we have discussed it on
other occasions. We should have been up 2-0 at the end of the
half, but instead we gave up the game with our letdowns." |
