09.29.06 - Sarah Kaufman, HU's current leader in career goals, provided a familiar scene for the Huntington fans, but this time it was the Forester opposition that was cheering.  Kaufman, who transferred to Cornerstone University at the end of last spring, netted two goals and assisted two others to help lead the Golden Eagles to a 7-1 rout over HU.

Kaufman put Cornerstone up 1-0 with a goal eight minutes into the contest and then added a second with 12 minutes left in the half to give the Golden Eagles a 3-0 advantage. Cornerstone put two more in the back of the net before the break to take a commanding 5-0 lead.

The undefeated Cornerstone squad completed its scoring with two more goals in the second half.  Ashley Gonterman helped HU avoid the shutout with an unassisted goal late in the second half.

"We were pretty competitive for the first 25 minutes, but then Cornerstone took control and scored four goals in the final 20 minutes of the half," said Coach Sharpe.

The Foresters drop to 2-9 on the season with the loss.
