09.02.06 - Freshman Bethany McGraw recorded the first hat trick of her young career to lead the Foresters (2-1) to a 4-1 win over Franklin College.

After Franklin netted the first goal of the game in the 12th minute of play, HU settled down and took charge of the game.  McGraw evened the match with her first goal at the 26 minute mark.  Freshman Colleen Knox put HU ahead as she found the back of the net off an assist from Laura Perry with 12 minutes to go in the half.  McGraw then took a pass from Rachel Warrick and slotted home her second goal just four minutes later to make it 3-1 at intermission.

In the second half, the Foresters continued to dominate play.  HU got its final goal 12 minutes into the half when Jennie Stern found McGraw who connected for her third and the Foresters' final score of the match.

"I was very pleased with how the ladies finished the first half and also how we started the second," said Coach Sharpe.  "I felt our back four played very well.  Dorina Oliveira won numerous 50/50 balls and Ashley Gonterman, Jennie Stein, and Rachel Warrick also stepped up with big games defensively for us."
