Midfielder Bethany McGraw was the catalyst that propelled the
Foresters to the 2-1 double overtime victory over Goshen College.
McGraw put the first point on the
scoreboard for HU less than three minutes into the contest.
Goshen evened things up with seven minutes to play in the first half
and they headed to the break tied 1-1.
The two teams went scoreless through
the second half and first overtime period until McGraw hit the
game-winner with 4:11 to play in the second extra period. HU's
Jessie Turnow hit McGraw at the top of the 18. McGraw cut back
to her left and sent the ball past the Maple Leaf keeper into the
back if the net.
The Foresters generated 16 shots to
just 12 for Goshen. HU keeper Emily Walker recorded five saves in
the match.
With the win, the Foresters to
improve to 7-8-1 on the season and
2-5 in the MCC. |
