Huntington University women’s soccer coach Ryan Burgher added the
eighth member to his incoming
2009 recruit class, Caley Lambert, from Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
Lambert was a four-year starter at Siloam Springs High School. She
was selected to the Olympic Developmental Program in Arkansas for
the summer of 2008. In the same summer Lambert participated in the
Regional III ODP camp. Lambert is also a grade eight referee.
During her time at Siloam Springs, Lambert has been a part of many
different organizations so that she could give back to the
community. Lambert is an active member in the Community Christian
Fellowship youth group, along with being a volunteer in the Big
Brothers Big Sisters of NWA. Lambert has also been on missions trips
and coaches in a youth league in her hometown.
Lambert who will be majoring in social work at Huntington said, “I
chose HU because I wanted, for sure, to go out of state for college.
I began my search in Indiana because I was born in Decatur and lived
there for a while. Also, all of my extended family lives in the Fort
Wayne and Decatur area. When I visited HU, I was very impressed by
the social work program and the friendliness of the campus as a
whole,” said Lambert. “I am most excited to be part of a tightly
knit group of girls who share my interests and beliefs. I can't wait
to see how much I will learn from everyone around me in the college
environment.”
“Caley is going to be a great addition to our team," said
Coach Burgher.
"She has played for the Olympic Developmental Program for Arkansas
so she really knows what that next level of competition looks like.
Caley is not only going to bring a high level of playing experience
to our team, she is bringing a heart for service which will add to
where our team is heading.” |
