09.04.09 - The Foresters grabbed two wins at the Trine University Jennifer L. Siersma Classic over the weekend. Friday night HU needed less than nine minutes to score three goals and put the game out of reach for the Comets of Olivet College.  Justine Jost scored HU's first goal at the 3:55 mark.  Three minutes later she logged her second goal off a corner kick assist from Erin Lessing.  Erin Lessing completed HU's scoring rampage with a goal of her own nine minutes into the game. Olivet finished the first half scoring with a goal off a free kick at the 33:00 mark.

The 3-1 halftime score proved to be the final score with neither team finding the back of the net in second half.  HU outshot Olivet 11-4.  Keeper Amy Tavierne recorded two saves on the day.

The Foresters continued their winning ways on Saturday in a 5-0 shutout win against Trine University.  HU got things started with a Stephanie Spitnale goal at the 9:17 mark.  Three minutes later Bethany McGraw found the back of the net to put the Foresters up 2-0.  The final scoring of the half came from Sam Barclay at the 22:52 mark.

HU continued its domination in the second half by scoring two more goals.  Brittany Hartman scored the fourth Forester goal twenty minutes into the half.  HU's final goal came at the 75:50 mark from Sam Barclay.  The Forester defense held the Comets to just five shots on the day while the offense generated 21 shots.

With these wins, the Foresters are 3-1.  They will face Kalamazoo College at home this Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
