01.06.10 - Huntington University women's soccer coach Ryan Burgher announced that Freeport High School standout, Megan Soltow, has signed her national letter of intent to play soccer at Huntington this fall. 

Soltow has been a four-year keeper at Freeport High School in Freeport, Illinois.  She has also been a member of the Freeport Fire. Soltow has been very involved in her church and school. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church youth group. Soltow is also a Teacher's Aid at Tri County Christian School.

"I loved the beautiful campus and after meeting the soccer team and sitting in on classes, I knew that this was the school I wanted to attend. It has everything I have been looking for," said Soltow. "I am going to strive to prove myself both academically and athletically and to see what direction the Lord leads me."

Coach Burgher is looking forward to the impact Megan will have not only on the team but the campus as well.  “After talking with Megan on her first visit I could tell she was the type of player we’d love to have on our team. She is a great girl that has a heart for the Lord. Megan is someone who is going to help this program on and off the field, ” commented Coach Burgher. “Playing-wise Megan is a tough keeper. She is aggressive and strong with great reactions. We love the toughness that she’ll bring to our team in training and in the game.”

Soltow is the daughter of Douglas and Nancy Soltow. She plans to major in Early Childhood Education.
