- The Foresters made it four
victories in a row to close out their spring schedule with their 6-3
win over Tri-State University. Trailing 2-1 after doubles, the
HC won five of the six singles matches to seal the win. Rachael
Boersma and Dawn Lauer were double winners. Boersma ran her winning
streak to six straight with her and Lauer's 8-2 win at #3 doubles and
her convincing 6-0, 6-0 shut out at #6 singles. Lauer's second
victory was a 7-5, 6-3 win at #4 singles. Other singles winners
were Stacy Plett (#2 6-2, 6-0), Jessica Deter (#3 7-6, 6-2), and Katie
Sprunger (#5 6-1, 6-1). Closing
out their careers for the Foresters were seniors Stacy Plett and
Kyleigh Gast. “I will really miss Stacy and Kyleigh,” said Coach
Turner. “They have meant a lot to the program. Stacy was my first
recruit and both have been good leaders.”
The women close out
their season with an 8-10 record. |
