04.09.05 - After picking up a win at Grace earlier in the week, the Foresters added two more with a 5-4 win over Earlham College on Saturday morning and a 6-3 decision over Marian College in the afternoon.

Rachael Boersma came up big for HC with four wins in the two matches.  Against Earlham, she defeated Claire Riuron 6-0, 6-2 at #6 singles and teamed with Dawn Lauer for the 8-3 win at #3 doubles.  In the afternoon, Boersma and Lauer left no doubt with the 8-1 win in doubles and Boersma finished her undefeated day with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over #6 Roxanne Moghadden.  Lauer added a third win on her day when Marian's Jenna Harris retired in the second set at #4 singles.

In the Earlham match, the score was tied at four matches each with #1 singles player, Kyleigh Gast, the only HC player still left on the court.  After dropping the first set 3-6, Gast came from behind to win the second set 7-5 and the super tie breaker 10-1 to give the Foresters the win.  Jessica Deter (#3 - 6-0, 6-3) and Katie Sprunger (#5 - 6-4, 6-2) were other singles winners.

In the Marian match, HC won five of the six singles matches to pick up their second win of the day.  Joining Boersma and Lauer in the win column was Stacy Plett (#2 - 3-6, 6-1, 10-4), Deter (#3 - 6-1, 6-2), and Katie Sprunger (#5 - 6-2, 6-3).

With the wins, the Foresters now stand at 7-10 on the year.
