University
squad was no match for the Foresters as HC knocked
off the Cougars 7-2.
The Foresters picked up two wins before the
match even started as Spring Arbor had only five
women available to play. HC started things
off with two wins in doubles, an 8-6 win by Stacy
Plett and Kyleigh Gast at #1 and a forfeit at #3.
In singles play, Ashley Counts topped
Kristen Perry 6-3, 6-4 at #1.
Gast picked up her second victory of the
match at #3 with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
Jessica Deter won 6-3, 6-2 at #4, and Dawn
Lauer won in three sets (6-4, 1-6, 6-1) at #5.
HC’s Rachael Boersma received the
Foresters’ second forfeit win at #6 singles.
“The girls played with more confidence
today,” said Coach Turner. “Being so
young, it is nice to see some wins from their hard
work in practice.”
With the win, the Foresters improve to 4-6
overall and 2-5 in conference play. |
