- The women’s tennis team had their chances,
but couldn’t convert and dropped a 6-3 decision
to Marian College. Playing doubles first,
the Foresters could only muster a win in one of
the three matches, an 8-4 victory by Stacy Plett
and Kyleigh Gast at #1. In singles, Gast
(6-1, 6-2) and Jessica Deter (6-4, 6-1) won easily
at #3 and #4 respectively. The closest
matches of the day came at #2 and #6 singles where
Stacy Plett (6-3, 6-7, 1-6) and Rachael Boersma
(4-6, 6-3, 3-6) dropped three-setters. “I
was really disappointed in our doubles play,”
said Coach Turner. “We really lacked
intensity. Had we played better, we would
have used that momentum to win the match.”
The women drop to 4-7 on the season and conclude
the MCC regular season with a 2-6 record. |
