09.11.07 - The Foresters
(4-2, 2-1) suffered
their first conference setback of the season, a 6-3 loss to Marian College.
The Knights outlasted HU in a couple of three-set singles matches at
#3 and #5 to grab the win.
Stephanie Strong was
HU's lone double winner in the match. Strong teamed with Raelyn
Althoff for the 8-6 win at #1 doubles and then she knocked off Loriann
Laugle 7-5, 6-1 at #1 singles. Jessica Deter earned the
Foresters' other point with a 7-5, 7-5 win over Loye Kegley.
“We didn’t play well
today as a team," said Coach Turner. "We need to be more intense and
focused if we are going to win matches against teams like Marian.
They are very well coached and strong fundamentally.” |
