09.12.07 - The Foresters (5-2) had little trouble with Defiance
College, shutting out the Yellow Jackets 9-0.
HU dropped just three
games in doubles play and only eight in singles on their way to the
sweep.
In doubles play, Stephanie Strong
and Katie Sprunger won 8-2 at #1, Liz Hull and Raelyn
Althoff teamed for the 8-1 win at #2 and Jessica Deter and Kyla
Zartman won eight consecutive games at #3.
The closest match in
singles play was at #1 where Strong knocked off Emily Meyer 6-3, 6-3
for the win. Althoff (#2), Springer (#4), Erica Abel (#5) and
Hull (#6) all disposed of their opponent with identical 6-0, 6-0
scores and Jessica Deter completed the shut out with a 6-0, 6-2
victory at #3. |
