09.22.07 - The #1 doubles team of Stephanie Strong and Raelyn Althoff brought home the women's doubles title from the Wilson/ITA NAIA Regional Championships held at Cedarville University.  It is the first time in school history that a Forester individual or doubles' team has won one of the events.

Strong and Althoff knocked off Eva Delk and Laura Helm of Indiana Wesleyan 8-4 in the championship match.  The win qualifies the pair for the National Tournament which will take place in Mobile, Alabama October 11-14.

HU's other doubles team of Kendra Ganz and Jessica Deter were eliminated in the first round 9-8.

Only one of the four Foresters participating in the competition survived the first round.  Jessica Deter downed Taylor's Kaiti Marsh 6-4, 6-2 in opening round action, but then fell 6-4, 6-1 to Emily Sampsel of Ohio Dominican.

In the consolation bracket, Strong fought her way back to the championship game before falling 6-3, 7-5 to Taylor's Kaiti Marsh.

"We really had a good tournament," said Coach Turner. "All of our matches were close and we had our chances. I am very proud of their efforts."
