06.06.08 - Huntington University women’s tennis coach Gary Turner has announced that John F. Kennedy High School senior Haley Neiderhiser has chosen to continue her tennis career as a Forester this fall.

As a four-year varsity letterwinner, Neiderhiser began making an impact as a freshman when she earned Third Team All-Conference honors.  As a sophomore, she was the Iowa Open singles runner-up as well as a State qualifier in singles for Kennedy.  The Cougars as a team were State Runners-up. Neiderhiser was named Second Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Metro.  During her junior year, the Cougars claimed the Iowa State Team Title.  Individually, Neiderhiser finished eighth at State in singles.  Her talents garnered her First Team All-Conference and All-Metro.  In her final campaign, Neiderhiser posted a 14-2 record at #1 singles and a 14-4 record at #1 doubles for the Cougars and she and her partner were the Doubles Runners-up at the State Tournament.

"Haley will make an immediate impact on our team," said Coach Turner.  "She comes from a highly successful high school program and has been very successful individually.  Aside from her abilities on the court, Haley is an outstanding student and a person of quality character.  I am really looking forward having her here this fall."
