Dr. Chaney Bergdall
Professor of Bible & Religion

Dr. Bergdall is an ordained minister in the church of the United Brethren in Christ and has pastored churches in Illinois and California. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Institute for Biblical Research, and the Near East Archaeological Society.

Dr. Mark R. Fairchild is the Professor of Bible & Religion and department chair of the Bible & Religion. Dr. Fairchild has twice received research grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Dr. Edwin Woodruff Tait
Assistant Professor of Bible & Religion

Dr. Edwin Woodruff Tait joined the faculty in the fall of 2006. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and history from Milligan College in Milligan, Tenn., his Master of Arts in religion from Duke University and his Ph.D. in the history of Christianity from Duke University.

Dr. William Hasker
Emeritus Professor of Philosophy

Dr. William Hasker received his Ph.D. in theology and philosophy of religion from The University of Edinburgh. A distinguished scholar, Dr. Hasker has published numerous works; his book on the problem of evil, The Triumph of God Over Evil, will be published by InterVarsity in March of 2008.

Emeritus Professor of Practical Theology
Emeritus Dean of the Graduate School of Christian Ministries

Dr. Paul Fetters earned a B.A. from Huntington College, B.D. from Huntington College Theological Seminary, M. Div. from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, M.S. in Education (Guidance and Counseling) from St. Francis College, and D. Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary.

The Rev. Dr. Kent Eilers
Assistant Professor of Theology

After gaining a BS from Calvin College, Dr. Eilers then pursued a M.Div. from Denver Seminary, and ultimately a Ph.D. in systematic theology from King’s College, University of Aberdeen (Scotland).
