Anita Wickersham Assistant Professor of Business and Accounting Address:
Professional Responsibilities
My primary focus is teaching accounting courses. Accounting is the language of business. It is a service that communicates information about a company to someone needing to make an economic decision. Users of this information can be found inside or outside of the company. Management (or Cost) accounting focuses on the needs of the company's managers by providing both financial and non-financial data that help users plan, control, and make appropriate decisions. Financial accounting focuses on the needs of external users, such as creditors, stockholders, and governmental agencies. This information is communicated through the preparation of financial statements. Readers of these financial statements are then better able to assess the company's future profitability and solvency. I teach the following courses on a regular basis:
I occasionally teach the following courses in a January term format:
Duties included preparation of financial statements, preparation of personal and corporate income tax returns, preparation of property tax returns, auditing, computer applications, and various management advisory services. Educational Background
