Forester
media guides receive recognition
For
the first time, Huntington University registered more than 200
freshmen during Registration Weekend.
Held on
June 23-24 on the University’s campus, the event included a record
201 freshmen. In addition, 39 more freshmen have indicated to the
registrar’s office that they intend to register in the near future.

State renews Huntington's accreditation
Huntington
University’s Summer Theatre Youth Camp participants will present a
junior version of “The Music Man” at 2 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday,
July 22, in Zurcher Auditorium in the Merillat Centre for the Arts.
General admission is $5 at the door. This production is the capstone
of Huntington University’s first Summer Theatre Youth Camp. Through
the four-week camp, children ages 6 to 15 learn basic theatrical
training from theatre professionals and perform a fully produced
musical theatre production. For youth ages 16-18, an apprentice
program is offered at the same time.

Nalliah acknowledged with Peer Awards
This fall,
Huntington University will welcome four new faculty members.
Dr. Robert Lynn begins as assistant professor of music. He
earned his Bachelor of Science degree in tuba performance from
William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., his Master of Arts degree in
tuba performance from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo.,
and his Doctor of Arts in tuba performance and music theory from
Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.

Fourth annual Huntington Open set for
July 29
The fourth annual Huntington Open will be held on Saturday, July 29,
2006, at the Huntington University Cross Country Course starting at
8:30 a.m. Showcasing a 4K and a 5K race, the Huntington Open has an
entry fee of $5 for each race for those who pre-register or $7 per
race for those who register the day of the event. Details >>

The 2006 Frances
White Ewbank Colloquium on C.S. Lewis and Friends convened at Taylor
University-Upland, June 1-4. Keynote speakers included Colin Manlove,
Daniel Koehn, Victoria Allen, Ed Brown, Douglas Beyer, Larry E.
Fink, Shaun Casborro and Thomas Howard. More than 20 papers had been
selected for presentation during the colloquium by professors
representing 15 universities along with Taylor. Dr. Paul R. Fetters,
professor emeritus of practical theology, read his research paper
“Dorothy Sayers and the Wiles of the Wicked One as Observed in Her
Contribution to the Faustus Legend, 'The Devil to Pay.’”
